Dr. Ulla Engelmann from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) holds a doctorate in radiochemistry and nuclear technology from the Technical University of Karlsruhe. Since joining the JRC in 1993, she has led various departments in Ispra and Brussels, focusing on communications, international relations, and research. Currently, Dr. Engelmann is the Director for Nuclear Safety and Security at the JRC, overseeing teams across Europe. She also heads Unit GROW, responsible for European cluster policy, social economy, and advanced technologies, including AI and digital transformation for industry.
