Dr. Christophe Bruggemann is the Deputy Director-General of the Belgian Nuclear Research Center, SCK CEN, overseeing strategic projects in nuclear medicine, waste management, and advanced reactor systems like MYRRHA and SMRs. As a Mining Engineer with a PhD in Bio-Engineering Science, he has held key roles in radioactive waste management, decommissioning, and European nuclear research programs. He chairs the OECD NEA’s Focus Group on Back-End of Advanced Reactors and was the first chair of EURADScience. He is also a guest lecturer on nuclear fuel cycle management at Belgian universities and actively contributes to international nuclear research initiatives.
