Prof. Dr. Radomír Pánek as Chair of EUROfusion is a distinguished expert in plasma physics and fusion technology. Born in 1975, he earned his Master’s and Ph.D. from Charles University, Prague. He has dedicated over 20 years to the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), currently serving as its Director and leading the COMPASS Upgrade project. An esteemed academic, he lectures at Charles University and Czech Technical University. Prof. Pánek is also Vice-chair of the Governing Board of Fusion for Energy in Barcelona. He also served as expert in the ITER Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (ITER STAC), DEMO Programme Steering Committee as well as the Satellite Tokamak Programme Committee (JT60-SA), and several other committees.
